Margaret Jane Hamilton better known has Meg died 20th February 2003 aged 83. Margaret lived in Hendon Sunderland all her life and left behind 5 children -Les,Jean,John,Arthur and Margaret and grandchildren -Leslie,Julie, Johnny,Tony,Sharon,Anita,Ian,John,Trevor,Lyndsey,Michael,Lisa,David,Niki,Frances and Christopher and was also a great great grandmother too. Margaret was the youngest daughter of William and Elizabeth.Margaret worked all her life sometimes having 2 jobs to bring her family up. She liked nothing better than being in the kitchen-'Megs Cafe' baking pies, rice loafs, pink squares, soup and more famously her home made bread. The kettle was never off and no-one made a better cup of tea.Margaret was never a drinker even though she worked in pubs most of her life- the Caledonian (better known as the Cally)being her favourite run by Tony and his wife Brenda. She also worked at prides bakery,Littlewoods and then onto Jacksons where she stayed unit her retirement in 1977 when Jacksons finally closed. She moved from Nicholson Court to Darcy Court in Hendon in 1984 and stayed there until she passed away. We will always remember Sunday teatimes has a family gathering - where all the family would vist to sample Megs home cooking and watch Bullseye - she was always her happiest when she was with her family who all loved her very much. The Queen of our family died living us all heartbroken - however we will always love and miss her forever.xxx

Memories

Where do I start -every memory I have of my childhood has you in it. We always had a very special bond and you were my best friend. You were always in your element when the whole family were together and liked nothing better than feeding us all. Hope you are happy wherever you are - i never got to meet my grandad but hopefully you are together. Forever in my heart xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Missing You

Hi Nana,I cannot put down in words how much I love you and the huge gap you have left in my life since you have gone. You were like a mother to me and we were very close.I am so pleased you got to meet my first child Joshua and the pictures I have of you holding him are very precious to me - you died when he was 4 weeks old so never got to see him grow up but I am sure you are watching over him. You never got to meet Luke Christopher my new baby but I will make sure my boys know how special you were and how much I loved you. All during my pregnency with Luke I had a craving for your home cooking so the whole 9 months was torture bcause no one could cook like you.I'll always miss our chats about the 'good old days' and your sayings '' well de without'' if we didnt want any food or a cup of tea. I was blessed with the best nana in the whole world and for that In was always be gratefulxxx Til we meet again -Love alwaysxxx
